The Committee
The FHRA is run entirely by volunteers — local residents who give their time because they care about the village. Here's a little about each of them.
Chairperson
Larisa Townsend
Larisa moved to Flackwell Heath in 2014 with her husband, and they now have three young daughters. She helped to set up the FlackWild Heath initiative, came to and FHRA committee meeting in 2019 to tell us about it and the rest is history! She says “I am very proud to be a part of a thriving local community, in which there are many fantastic groups and organisations contributing to local life. I firmly believe that we are stronger as a community when we communicate, connect and work together: as the FHRA we have the opportunity to work alongside and connect different local organisations to achieve great results for our community!”
Vice-Chairperson
Pamela Mannering
Pam arrived alongside John in 1984 and has been involved in village groups ever since — starting with the Under Fives when her children were small and working her way up from there. She has held numerous roles within the FHRA including Chairman, Youth, and Events, and currently oversees the running of the monthly village market. Essentially, if the market runs smoothly, it's because of Pam.
Secretary
Andy Barron
Andy is the village's resident Tony Stark, not content with making his own house a beacon of light for the street at Christmas, he single-handedly saved the village thousands of pounds on the 2025 Christmas Lights! There's nothing this man cannot tinker - he's also dragged meeting notes into the 21st Century with his various AI gadgets. We must be careful what we say now about Member 235! (Joke.)
Treasurer
John Mannering
John and Pam Mannering arrived in Flackwell Heath in 1984 — "still probably not qualifying as real locals," as John puts it. He spent years on the touchlines refereeing youth football for the Minors and Maidenhead Girls, and has been keeping the FHRA's books in order for the last several years.
Committee Members
Chris Marriott
Chris moved to the village with his wife Amy and now has three daughters. He joined the FHRA after spotting a social media post looking for helpers.
"It's a great excuse to go and have a drink with some great people."
Honestly, there are worse reasons. He's also the "voice of HeathFest", brilliantly running the mic as MC for our community events!
Melanie Whitfield-Lewis
Melanie is a qualified accountant who has lived in the centre of the village since 2016. Her daughter attends Juniper Hill School. She joined the FHRA because she wanted to help make Flackwell Heath a special place to live — and because, as it turns out, community organisations always need a good accountant.
Zoe Bourn
Zoe works in children’s publishing and her FHRA role is social media. She has three children with her husband Andrew and can often be seen being dragged round the village by their goldendoodle Pearl!
Cheryl Dwyer
Flackwell Heath is such a fantastic community that it was a very easy yes to join the Residents Association. I love seeing everyone come together for Christmas on the Heath, the Easter trail and Heath Fest. And playing a small part in the team who put it all together is super fun and very rewarding.
James York
James works in innovation and the insurance industry, an entrepreneur, he's helped the FHRA update its website and membership. He's also Andy Barron's helper for Christmas lights or across events where he's generally lifting and moving things. He's a dad of four, all attending Juniper Hill. He coaches with the village football team.
Lou Knowles
Lou joined the FHRA is 2024 after helping at HeathFest and wanting to get more involved in events around the village. She moved to FH with her parents at the age of 5 and after a brief stint in Loudwater, moved back up the hill in 2013. Lou lives with her young son and they both appreciate the sense of community, the support that it offers and the sociability of the village. She is proud to be part of a group that works hard to make our village even better and more vibrant than it already is!
Natalie Willis
Matt Roberts
Hall of Fame!
The committee has had some AMAZING volunteers over the years, we'd like to give a huge thank you to those who have helped along the way.
Lenny White
2015-2025
Lenny lived in Wooburn Green before moving up to Flackwell Heath in 2012 with his wife and two children. He joined the FHRA in 2015 during which time he has been the charity’s Treasurer for three years and was Chairman from 2019-2023.
You'll no doubt see Lenny helping across the FHRA's events!
Barbara Hunt
-2025
She and her husband Geoff moved into Flackwell Heath in 1976 and their three children went to school in the village. Her two daughters went into what was then Carrington Middle School and her son went into Carrington First School. The children stayed in the Middle School to the age of twelve before going on to Secondary education.
Barbara taught at Tylers Green Middle School, staying for many years until retirement from full time teaching. She ended my career teaching for one day a week at Carrington Junior School and being on hand for general Supply work. Barbara was also a Governor there for some years and has been involved in several associations within the village.
She was elected to serve on Chepping Wycombe Parish Council in 1995, representing Flackwell Heath for twelve years. She and Geoff have had forty eight happy years in Flackwell Heath, appreciating the vibrant community spirit within the village.
