The Chill Zone is Flackwell Heath's dedicated youth club for young people aged 11–17, running every Wednesday evening from 5–7pm at Flackwell Heath Methodist Church. It was named by the young people who come — and that's kind of the whole vibe.

How it started

Last year the FHRA secured funding from Chepping Wycombe Parish Council and Buckinghamshire Community Board to bring dedicated youth provision to the village for the first time. We partnered with Kwakz, founder of Relatable Role Models, and his team of brilliant youth workers to make it happen. The result is something the village is genuinely proud of.

What's on

Every week there's a rotating mix of activities — something for everyone, no matter what you're into:

• Football — five-a-side, casual, no kit required
• Table tennis — competitive or just messing about, both welcome
• Art — creative sessions with proper materials
• Gaming — yes, actual gaming
• Music — instruments, beats, whatever you fancy
• Music studio — a fully equipped in-house studio available every other week for anyone who wants to record, produce, or just explore

No auditions. No tryouts. No cliques. Just show up.

Why come?

Look, we get it — there isn't always much to do on a Wednesday evening in a village. The Chill Zone exists because young people in Flackwell Heath deserve a space that's actually theirs. A place to decompress after school, meet people from outside your usual circle, discover something new, or just exist somewhere that isn't your bedroom.

The youth workers are there to support, not supervise. It's genuinely low-key.
